I'm looking to form a 90s style alternative rock band. If you haven't already gathered, I play the electric & acoustic guitar (been doing so for one and a half years now) and can also play keyboard/piano (though I don't read sheet-music); sing & write my own songs, and am looking for a drummer, a bassist, an additional guitarist and/or other instrumentalist. I have HUGE ambitions to be in a successful band but I can't do it by myself!
Styles: primarily alt. rock/metal, as well as heavy metal, hard rock, psychedelic, and a contrast of softer/dream-pop - sometimes video-game-music-esque stuff. Plus probably more styles/genres than I even realise I've touched upon... hell, come to think of it, maybe even a bit of rap metal too! Basically not just one thing, but definitely melodic and experimental; light/heavy; covering a wide spectrum of emotions; genre pushing/redefining where applicable. Music that is generally exciting.
Influences: primarily Smashing Pumpkins, and Soundgarden
Plus special mentions to: Feeder (for specialness), Ash (for infectiousness), and Yellowcard (for awesome violinage)
As well as: the respected rock classics like Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin of course; I bow to thee, forever in your debt (as is every guitarist by default).
Plus did I mention video game music? I've a fondness for the genius of Final Fantasy composer, Nobuo Uematsu (being my most important keyboard playing origins), and also my childhood game, The Legend of Zelda on the good ol' N64 (AKA the greatest game ever!), composed by Koji Kondo. I'm an aspiring songwriter at heart with a strong lyrical mind, and am prepared to do whatever it takes... I don't hold back from my beliefs. I have the intention to ultimately create and release many albums, and have already accumulated a vast amount of song ideas - lyrically, and musically, for performance in a band. Though, alone, I'm only about 1/3 the overall vision I have, provided I can't do this by just myself! So if you think you can help bring this closer to "whole" and happening, why not we collaborate. Maybe I'm just completely out of my mind asking this in our "modern" times... hoping to be proved wrong!
Also, please don't let all the songwriting/demos on this blog intimidate you; I know there's a lot to see of it but that's just to give an overall impression of who I am and what I'm about... there's plenty more where these ideas came from, and I'm not just a dark songwriter; more just a misunderstood genius!

It is my greatest aspiration to become like the world/life-changing greats that Smashing Pumpkins once were - if that's even at all possible in this hot-shot day 'n age... no "wannabe" vibes per-say, but the real deal (a la the "British Smashing Pumpkins", at least to a degree)... with our own flavours of course, not trying to imitate anybody. As long as we're not taking it too seriously, that's all that matters, but I have a lot I wanna say and accomplish. To me, music is what makes the world go round.
