[old blog entry - shall post new stuff soon!]
Sooo... after the rant in my previous blog entry, my guitar input is all fixed up now anyway! Cost me a fiver down the local music store to get the wire soldered back on. Fair play I guess. In the time my guitar was broken (which was like two or three days), I played it unplugged for literally hours non-stop in the kitchen where I get most peace. Now I have like around 400 guitar recordings... woah!! It'll take me a damn while to sift through them all and pick out the best ones, and I have so many I like which I think has potential to be made into something good. If I had a band I'd be dangerous, I tell thee!
What I really want now is to buy an acoustic guitar. I was down Vibes (my local music store) for like half an hour when I was getting my Pacifica fixed and I was just there by myself playing their acoustic guitars (as I have done about 3 or 4 times this week). Every time I'm down there they must think to themselves 'not him again!' haha... so, the guitars I was comparing were the Yamaha F310 and some Tanglewood Evolution electro-acoustic which I forgot to note the model number. Looking at online reviews of the Yamaha, it seems like a very good starting acoustic but, to be honest, I preferred the Tanglewood more. More crisp sounding, looked cooler, was electro-acoustic and only forty quid more. I think I'll return there on the weekend and look into it more!
Oh and I've been updating the other pages on my blog recently including where I'm at now to explain my styles at the moment: soundgarden, muse, paramore and foo fighters inspired heaviness - with some soft balladry stuff too. Though as ever, I do all sorts in between... spanish guitar anyone? And I've uploaded some guitar recordings from my mammoth several hundred recordings to SoundCloud, so go have a listen in the guitar section now! If you're new to my blog, please read the my music, my world page first. Cheers, and enjoy the music of life!
P.S. Don't forget to check out Believe - my could've-been album.
